Governance

Athena Glasgow Women and Girls Football Academy SCIO is governed by a board of trustees, ensuring compliance with OSCR regulations. The trustees oversee strategic direction, financial management, and adherence to the academy’s charitable goals.

 

Regular meetings review progress and set policies, while the board collaborates with coaches, volunteers, and the community to support player development.

Craig is a founding trustee and Chair of Athena Glasgow. A Glasgow-based operations and project management professional, he brings hands-on experience in field operations, team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and risk management across the energy and utilities sectors.

 

Craig holds qualifications including APM Project Fundamentals and NEBOSH, and has a strong personal commitment to women's and girls' football in North Glasgow. As founding Chair, he has been central to establishing Athena Glasgow from the ground up and continues to provide strategic direction and operational oversight.

Craig O'Leary

Chair

Brendan is a highly experienced senior operations and change management professional with over 30 years in financial services, having held leadership roles at Prudential, M&G, and Tata Consultancy Services. He brings expertise in business transformation, governance, strategic planning, and organisational development.

 

Brendan's professional background strengthens Athena Glasgow's capacity to manage growth, develop sustainable processes, and plan for the long term.

Secretary

Isimhenme is a qualified medical doctor holding MBBS, MSc, DRCOG, and MRCGP qualifications, practising as a GP in the UK. He brings a health and wellbeing perspective to the board that directly complements Athena Glasgow's mission, with a deep understanding of the physical, mental, and social health needs of participants.

 

His clinical expertise strengthens the organisation's approach to participant wellbeing and informs the design of programmes that address the whole person.
