We are delighted to share that Athena Glasgow Women & Girls Football Academy has been awarded £1,000 from the ASDA Foundation, a vital boost for our work empowering girls and young women through football in one of Scotland’s most deprived areas.
A huge thank you to Emma from the ASDA Foundation Robroyston who presented us with the cheque last month. Your support means the world to us and will make a real difference to our work in Springburn and the wider North Glasgow community.
As a SCIO based in Springburn – an area ranked 167th out of 6,505 in the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation – we are working hard to remove barriers to participation in sport and create safe, welcoming spaces for women and girls to play, grow, and thrive. This funding will go directly towards supporting our grassroots programmes and community outreach activities, helping us continue to offer free and affordable access to football for all.
Thank you to ASDA for recognising the importance of community sport in tackling inequality, boosting wellbeing, and creating brighter futures.
